You know what I want to do someday. I want to travel to the Southern Hemisphere and do some stargazing. Think about that for a minute. When you look to the sky everything you see will be foreign. No big dipper, no Orion Nebula. Well, maybe the Orion Nebula, but in a very strange place. If you go south enough, it will be as close as we will ever get to looking into the heavens and knowing what it must feel like to stand on another planet.

This deep thought was inspired by the comet McNaught which is now currently visible only in the southern hemisphere. This comet is the brightest comet to visit our planet in the past 40 years. It’s so bright, you can even see it during the day.
